I was picking up the kids of a friend of mine. As they piled into the minivan the older declares in a very snooty voice"Oh, you don't have a built-in DVD player, what are we going to watch?" I had to bite my lip from shouting "the world passing you by", but then when he complained he didn't have his own jack to plug in his Nintendo DS (he was 7 at the time), it took the patience of Job not to shake him. The piece de resistance was when they arrived at home, the little one stood at the van's side, just staring at it. When I asked what was wrong, she said "I don't know how to close the door, there's no button". Yes, my love, you have to use that crazy thing called an arm to shut the door.
