So every Christmas I wait until the very end of the season and run around like a chicken with my head cut off the week before. Not this year! I am starting NOW to get some things purchased and off the list.
This way, I can shop for deals and save some cash in the process. And I found out about Coupon Chief – a great place to find coupons online to save you cash at the stores you shop at with the ease of shopping online! My friend Amy turned me on to these deals and I thank her every time I see her.
For the girls, I am using the Target coupons ($5 off at checkout). I have one who loves to decorate her dorm room with all kids of cute stuff and Target has the best selection, bar none. The other daughter needs anything and everything for her kitchen. (She is just learning to cook and believe me, it’s all in there.)
My son, the one I have to tear from his video games, is getting something special using a Best Buy discount offer. Instead of games that sound like mutated creatures, he’s getting a digital camera – I know it’ll be in stock (especially if I go now rather than Dec. 20.) and there is free shipping with this deal too. I think time spent working on his own images is better spent than with whatever spawn is taking over the video world he’s so fond of. (Perhaps I will be creating a monster?)
You gotta check this out. There are a lot more stores and deals to take advantage of – It’s like Santa for moms!

Not fair! When I see a new post on your site, I always expect something funny, something that will get me through another day of parenting hell. What’s with the ads? Do they pay you enough that it’s worth disappointing your readers? Although you do make the huckstering more amusing than what I’ve seen on other blogs, I must say.

Thanks for passing along the info! Oh & I laughed at that Mark Twain quote on your coaster. I may have to write that up & put it on the fridge. Spread the love around.

I know, I know. I must say that I am getting used to being disappointing – I have three kids and they let me know constantly how I should have done this or that. Now you too? Sad, sad state of affairs. I am experimenting (with what I thought was a safe medium) but I am bolstered up with your comment that my huckstering is somewhat amusing in comparison to others. That has been one of my life goals (to be amusing, I mean).
And seriously, I really did shop there because I am lazy and want to do everything online and lots of places have free shipping. My problem now is hiding the stuff – I never had this problem before as it was all last minute. Where or where does a mother hide all this stuff?

My mom did the shop ahead – well like a month or so – and hide the gifts to wrap the night before thing. She was great at hiding the gifts too! So great that every year without fail she would forget about at least one gift. We’d get it by our birthdays, 6 months later & she’d say “this was for Christmas but you know…” I suggest wrapping them ahead of time and then storing them away.
