I didn’t believe my son when he told me, so he brought the boot home. He literally gave me the boot. And it did not feel good. I just bought those work boots for his shop classes in SEPTEMBER and the sole was already hanging about half way off the bottom. I did buy them dirt cheap because it was “Back to School” time and my funds were running low, but still, that’s only two measly months of part-time wear. Hot glue to the temporary rescue.
For a more permanent fix, I decided to get him a better pair. Those of you who know me (and how I love to shop online but that is another story – and again, you would have to ask…), I found him a quality pair of work boots to last a really long time. My husband says “You can’t beat the cheapness of quality” and yes, he made that up himself, and because shipping was free as my order at Met Boots was over $100, I did well.
I suppose all things considered, it worked out for the best as this time I got him a pair of steel toe boots like his teacher suggested in the first place. (I just told him to be careful not to drop anything.)

That reminds me of a friend who, when they were temporarily without health insurance, told her kids to “be careful.”

http://www.thebootpro.com is another great place to buy work boots. I bought mine there – the prices were great and I love the quality!
