One source of constant whine at our house is the fact that we don’t have cable or satellite TV. We use the archaic invention – the antenna. My mate is, shall we say, frugal?
So, a mother must protect what is dear to her. Namely, her investments like the new carpet just installed in the living room. Now when my 24 year-old decided to put her full glass of red wine down on it, of course I was protective.
“Get your wine off the new living room carpet,” I said. “Do you really think balancing that on a plush surface is a smart move?”
She reacted to my thought-provoking questioning with a snippy reply.
My husband added, “You better move it. We don’t want to have to visit your mother in prison for killing anyone.”
My other daughter added, “There’s one way to get cable.”

A snippy reply? Really? Imagine that. And really, wouldn’t prison be sort of peaceful? Ask for solitary.

Karen – yes, solitary sounds good but I would miss my own glass of wine.
Maldveslive – not sure, take room with it me too.

Hi! Hmmm! What comes first? The carpet or the cable. The carpet of course. Having said that, I can’t remember the number of times I’ve stood my ground only to give in meakly later on.

LOL… Cable is overrated; wine stains are not.

We have no cable, satellite or antennae – why you may ask? Because when we did have cable, one rainy day the cable repair men decided to track every bit of mud that could fit in and around their boots into my home and onto my white carpet. When the cable company was uninterested in my cleaning bill, I became uninterested in cable. Now we use Netflix.

We don’t have cable either but I hope no one tries the prison route to get it

I don’t have cable but do watch tv shows online yet my wife continues to insist on getting cable tv back for football. It’s rediculous to pay so much for a service that could be much cheaper and flexible.

You know, our family also has no TV cable. My husband and I often talked about installing cable so the kids can watch more channels. Then we decided against it.
1. Like you said, the money is tight and 29$ each month can add up to quite an amount.
2. My husband and I don’t watch much TV, only the news, so why need 200 somethings channels for, right?
3. My husband doesn’t want the kids to be baby-sit by the TV. We only 1 channel for kids and they already spend 2 hours watching it. Imagine 24 hours cartoon, they will literally become potatoes couches. It will be hard for the Calculus to get through the brain that already be deactivated by mindless hours of cartoon…

An anchor can point to any resource on the Web: an HTML page, an image, a sound file, a movie, etc.
The syntax of creating an anchor:
Text to be displayed
The tag is used to create an anchor to link from, the href attribute is used to address the document to link to, and the words between the open and close of the anchor tag will be displayed as a hyperlink.
This anchor defines a link to W3Schools:
