Regular readers know my son is allergic to soap, water and being clean. It’s a real tragedy. (Note my sarcasm.) His well-intentioned sisters, who should usually mind their own business, found him some dry shampoo to help him get ready faster in the morning. (I shuddered when they brought it home because I remember using dry shampoo back in the day. It was like putting baby powder in your hair. It clung to your stringy strands but at least your hair smelled like a baby’s clean backside.)
Things must have changed in more modern times because Salon Grafix Dry Shampoo didn’t leave any powdery stuff, made his hair feel and look cleaner, AND it smelled clean too. This stuff actually comes in shades for your hair color too. (He’s brunette.) Now, I must convince him that you must eventually wash your hair and it doesn’t work in perpetuity, but that’s is nice to have handy when you just don’t have the time.
When I told the girls that I was actually happy about their dry shampoo discovery for their brother, they added, “Good, Mom. We can get you some too. It comes in gray.”
The time between Christmas and their birthdays is sooo long.

Dry shampoo? What??? How does this possibly work? Hmmm, maybe I could encourage my little one to try it. Right now the conversation goes, “Get in that shower RIGHT NOW or I’m going to rip your arms off and beat you with the bloody stumps of them!”
Wait, that’s what my mom used to say.
