I hate to clean about as much as I hate dust, clutter, spots and crumbs. As I still have house guests, I decided to run the vacuum again as they were out this morning, and low and behold, the thing started on fire. My guess is that it certainly wasn’t overheating because of overuse. Ah hem.
I turned it off right away. So the thing is really smoking and I decide putting it outside is a good idea in case it really catches on fire. Now my vacuum cleaner doesn’t suck. And it was just yesterday that my computer guy told me that my laptop was beyond fixing – and I thought he was all powerful. He is officially off my fantasy-man list. The day before that, my DVD player decided it has read its last digital information. What the heck! It is weird that some things happen in threes.
On the positive side, I got a $32 check for an overpayment on something yesterday, and an $11 check for a refund last week. This will hardly offset the financial impact of replacing the items mentioned above but there’s always hoping I get a third check? (Not holding my breath and ignoring the first bill for my son’s college that came when he doesn’t even start attending until August.)
Realistically, I know the best I can hope for is discovering a great sale, finding a good coupon code, and coming to terms with a higher balance on the credit card.
Good thing I have a really short attention span, even worse memory retention and three bottles of wine under the cupboard. Otherwise things could be downright depressing!
(And on that note – I found the best wine with a name that will make you turn red when ask for it. It is Menage A Trois – and it is great. It is a blend of Zinfindel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, so here is proof that some good things come in threes. I had to fill up on it as the boss took us to a Sushi place and I don’t like Sushi. It was a hardship but, like Gloria Gaynor, I will survive.)

Things do happen in 3s. I firmly believe this. sorry about all the items that don’t work. You can always give your guests a broom and dust pan.

was something stuck in your vaccum cleaner, around the rollers. i’ve had the gaud awful smell because carpet strings was stuck in there and that wine sounds GREAT. i want to try it, but i will send mr. for it. man i could use that tonight when i’m cleaning. i don’t mind cleaning either. add music and wine and i can go for hours.
