You know the type. They have 27 cats and talk about them like they are preemies with life-threatening conditions and never seem to notice the smell in the house?
I have been accused of being a cat lady-in-waiting because I purchased a hot pink reflective ped id tag in the shape of a heart. If I had gotten this little ditty for the kitty (on the right ), now that would be another story. Maybe next year. But the birthstones are really over the top. Besides, when you get your cat because someone threw her out of a truck as they passed your home, it’s so hard to ask their birthdate over the screeching wheels. 
We are going to Family Weekend at college to visit my son. The girls, being perennially embarrassed of us, would not let us visit at that event when they were in college.My son sounded glad to see us and gave me a list of the things he’d forgotten to bring.
I told the daughters that we were going and not only did they want to come, they voiced their regrets about us not coming on their Family Weekends at college.
I told them that having them come along might embarrass my son. It was good for a double-take and a couple of eye rolls. My day was complete.

I don’t know how those cat ladies do it. I have two cats and sometimes they seem like 27.

I hate my cat, that’s all I’m going to say about that, except she hates me too.
