Fearless: Baring Your Nipple Or Walking Over Niagara Falls?

June 17th, 2012 · 1 Comment

I almost wrote almost about how I could care less that Madonna flashed her nipple at a recent concert, and then flashed a temporary tattoo that said “No Fear” after she did so.

I decided that I didn’t care enough to post about it, even though I think it was cowardly. It would have been more courageous to bare your nipple at the mall or at the airport where you could get arrested. The tattoo was crap. No fear? I could almost picture her hustling off to the airport hiding behind her entourage to escape before the morals police or anyone with common sense caught up with her and her nipple. That flash evaporated in the pan. How proud her girls should be of her brave stance on nipples.

How different than the true courage on display when Nik Wallenda walked over Niagara Falls and didn’t show a ripple of fear. All I could think of was that this truly was no fear as he walked from the U.S. to Canada on a tightrope, capturing our attention and our hearts without uttering one foul word or showing any body parts. And he was a gentleman and family man when conducting himself before, during and after his exposition.

And the biggest difference for me personally, was that I actually wanted to watch Nik Wallenda. I could care less about seeing Madonna’s nipple. I imagine it is getting kind of old and leathery now anyway. All that exposure and all.

So hat’s off to you, Nik. Keep your shirt on, Madonna.

You know you’ve become old, irrelevant and outdated when you have to resort to showing your nipples. And you are right – what kind of example is she setting for her kids? UGH!
