March Family Funnies

Welcome to my Motherwise March 17, 2008 edition of the family funnies. Well, it’s been so much fun going through all of the entries trying to understand how some folks could possibly misunderstand the specific directions I left to only to find some people submit blog posts totally unrelated to family and parenting humor. No, dogs are not kids, marketing isn’t funny. Nor are cooking articles and paying off your mortgage, and they are not even remotely related to this carnival topic. God help me, I feel like I am talking to my bloody kids for crying out loud. The rest of you I want to thank for following directions and providing those of use who enjoy family funnies with material that qualifies as such. Good job. My faith in mankind is restored. I may even do an April carnival. Bless you!

cate3 presents Humor: Who’s on First – the computer version posted at Why Homeschool, which stars Henry’s modern day version of “Who’s on First”. While this doesn’t mention families directly, I think since you homeschool children, it is at least in the same general universe and therefore related to our family funnies topic. And it’s funny.

Julie Rains presents Ten Hearing Aids at My House posted at Parenting Squad.

Angela Williams Duea presents If Jesus was a Dad posted at angelawd, saying, “If Jesus was a dad, I’m sure my teen’s homework would always be finished on time.”

Family Humor

Tony Clements presents tuesdays: chase and bunny posted at tuesdays, saying, “a childhood memory about my buddy chase, a German shephard, and the neighbor’s pet rabbit.”

Lena Santos presents Show Me That Turkey! posted at and life goes on…... Read about her personal “phobia” that has caused her a lot of embarrassment.

Madeleine Begun Kane presents Motor Boating Just Isn?t Our Speed (Humor Column) posted at Mad Kane’s Humor Blog. I give Mad lots of extra thanks because her entry has the word humor in it making it very easy for me to see that her blog post certainly belongs in this carnival. Thanks, Mad. And she is funny too.

Kara Williams presents Family Air Travel Stories: Even Young Kids Develop Brand Loyalty posted at Traveling Mamas, saying, “Note: MudslideMama (Jen) wrote this post for TravelingMamas.com”

Don’t miss Can’t Touch This:Fashion Fads from the 1980?s You Don?t Want to Remember! posted at CustomizedGirl Blog, teasing us by saying, “Who doesn’t remember these clothes coming out during family events!?” (She did include family in her description so I am giving her credit for this effort. She’s included by the thinnest of margins.)

Lena Santos presents Kitchen Buff, err Bluff! posted at and life goes on….., saying, “a new wife bluffs her way in the kitchen”. If she can bluff her way in the kitchen, I am going to let her bluff her way into this family funnies edition. I know it’s a stretch, but you need a wife to make a baby – it’s a future family just waiting to happen.

WhatWorksForUs presents How To Make Dinner With A Toddler posted at What Works For Us. Before I read this I thought I had the recipe – take out. Oh, just read and see if that’s what’s cooking.

Renae presents Confession posted at Life Nurturing Education.

Parenting Humor

Michelle Robinson presents Four Kids for the Night posted at Mad About Kids, saying, “Kids can drive parents crazy sometimes, and sometimes unusual solutions are the best!” Many thanks to Michelle for including the word “kids” in her submission making it obvious that her post is a keeper.

Laura Williams presents Laura Williams’ Musings: Tiny Talk Tuesday posted at Laura Williams’ Musings.

Angela presents The Bulls: An Undefeated Hockey Season posted at Reality Testing, saying, “I’m in again–thanks!” Oh, no, Angela. After looking over all the unrelated blog posts submitted, I thank you!

Eugene Varnado presents Look at the Time: The Triumph of Taylor at posted at The Chronicles of Roosevelt Franklin, saying, “A 9 year old daughter vs. her father. And the antics ensue!

That concludes this edition. Submit your blog article that is about kids, parenting, families or something somehow related to the raising of children to the next edition of family funnies using my handy dandy carnival submission form. Past posts and future hosts can be found on our blog carnival index page.
