I am stuck on Mabel’s Labels because they stay stuck on just about everything. The kind folks at Mabel’s, who incidentally won the Savymom Mompreneur of the Year Award, sent me some of these labels for my kids about a month ago.

I put them on my son’s athletic bag, shoes, etc., probably the most challenging place to keep them on, as well as on various lunch boxes, school books, backpacks, cups and even an iPod. Keep in mind that I put my lunch boxes in the dishwasher and the stickers were on them. To my happy surprise, they stayed put! These little babies are pretty much wash and wear and can take a licking without unsticking. They are still on everything. Even things that went in the microwave can’t shake Mabel’s labels off.
The labels are also pretty cute – the girl’s got pink and purple so even they can differentiate their items from afar (no fighting!). My son’s are blue so he is comfortable with them being placed on his stuff. I don’t know about you, but when certain things are the rage with a whole group of kids, I feel better knowing my kids can ID their own stuff easily. And believe it or not, the labels even withstood my son’s “lack of care” about his things, which means they are thrown anywhere, kicked around, exposed to the elements and shoved in places that when removed, remind me of an Houdini act. I really do like these labels and wish I had them when my kids were even smaller. Their sippy cups and toys would be sporting them.

Mabel’s also makes clothing labels and household labels as well as a line of stationery, which I did not try, but if they are as great as the sticky labels, it’s a good investment.

You can download a catalog for Mabel’s products here and see for yourself how great these labels are.

Finding out that people Googling for dirty stuff like my innocent post I Like Big Buts that was about Infomercials and the term “old sex” are getting me the most Internet traffic I’ve had in ages. Please – I am so rated G! I’m afraid if I write “Ho Ho Ho” they’ll be looking for Pam Anderson here.

These same people who can’t even spell “butt” right when they Google for their dirty bits.

Grumpy postal workers who should have medicated before going to work.

These same workers talking to me through a mouthful of something left over from their Christmas lunch and getting crumbs on my packages. If I wanted crumbs on them, I’d have left them on the counter at home.

Getting a call from the video store saying we owe big bucks because the kids didn’t return the movies they told me they did. (I think it was “It’s a Wonderful Life”. No kidding.)

Men leaving their hard core tools in my exercise area. (Do they really need this to put up the Christmas tree?)

Kids telling me today what they really want for Christmas.

Kids calling me asking from the store what they should get for so-and-so and getting mad when I don’t know.

Whoever is putting the butter back into the refrigerator when I’m trying to leave it out to soften it for baking.

My taste testers complaining about the peanut butter cookies tasting terrible when they were S’mores cookies, not peanut butter.

The extinction of tape and scissors in my house that coincides with each Christmas season.

The extinction of the old-fashioned tree tinsel that wasn’t as thin as dental floss and was actually long enough to hang down.

My daughter baking cookies with my ingredients that I am not allowed to eat. (For the boyfriend. If he knows what’s good for him, he’ll share when he gets here.)

If I don’t find the chocolate soon – this child HID it so I wouldn’t eat it because she needs it for a recipe – I am really going to go Ebenezer.

—–

“Well, then, I’ll just swallow this and be tortured by a legion of hobgoblins, all of my own creation! It’s all HUMBUG, I tell you, HUMBUG!” ~ Ebenezer Scrooge

When I first started blogging, I had heard how some people were making money doing what they love – writing. It seemed too good to be true and you know what, for the most part it is. To be honest, it takes dedication and time if you want to make big bucks blogging.

Who wouldn’t like to have a little bit of extra cash and do what you like at the same time? You can when you write blog ads. These are posts you add to your blog about your opinions, your experiences or whatever that you add a like. You can decide how much or how many posts you’d like to write and get paid for – like this post about Pay Per Post. I don’t have a lot of time but since I am blogging, I have begun to add a post here and there to my blog and make some pocket change in the process.

There are no minimums or limits – you make the rules. It’s very flexible, and easy. Being a new blogger, I am not exactly a techno geek and I stumble and bumble around and hope something doesn’t blow up on me. Pay Per Post is very easy to navigate and if I can do it, anyone can. Just ask my kids.
